Curious about next month’s interest rates? Is it going up or down? Then you’ve come to the right place!

The Fed meets every month for two days at the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting to determine amongst various things, the interest rates going forward. This then affects central bank policies around the world, which in turn affect the interest rates that we pay in our mortgages and loans, unless they have been fixed prior to this.

So, we’ve decided to pull the data of interest rates, analyse them and provide our forecast on where interest rates are likely headed (just like we did for UAE Petrol Prices. Can we please get a Thank you!) to help you plan your loan repayments, and time your loan applications.

What is the current Federal Reserve interest rate?

The current Federal Reserve interest rate, or federal funds rate, is 2.25% to 2.50% as of 28th July, 2022.

When is the next FOMC Meeting?

The next FOMC meeting is scheduled on the 21st September 2022 at 02:00 PM ET.

The trend for interest rates over the next few months looks to be heading upwards.

What does this mean?

Based on the table above, the interest rates are expected to rise as a result of the next FOMC meeting.

There is a 57% that the interest rates would rise by 0.75% to 3.00 - 3.25. There is a 43% that the interest rates would rise by 0.50% to 2.75 - 3.00.
